NewspaperARCHIVE.com is the largest historical newspaper database
available online with more than 37 million newspaper pages. Community
Library of Allegheny Valley patrons can now search the database
in-house only for newspapers dating from 1759 to 1977. Sorry,
Pennsylvania newspapers are excluded. To access the database, go to
http://access.newspaperarchive.com.
Users may view, save and print full-page newspapers.
New Kensington Dispatch
The Local History Department is pleased to announce the addition
to
its microfilm collection of the New Kensington Dispatch for the
period November 21, 1891, to December 7, 1905.

- Donations of
city directories for Alle-Kiski towns (No phone books, please.)
- High school yearbooks:
- East Deer and Frazer (all years)
- Deer Lakes (1972-81 and 1986-present)
- Har-Brack (1961)
- Highlands (1986-1990 and 1992-94)
- St. Joseph's -- Natrona (all years)
- Tarentum (1927 and 1929)
- West Deer (1942-1953)
- Will also accept yearbooks from other A-K Valley
schools.
- Personal diaries of Alle-Kiski residents -- particularly
diaries
depicting daily life and/or historic events such as the Civil War,
the town's first automobile, the 1936 Flood....We will gladly
photocopy a diary with which you cannot bear to part.
