Downloadable Audio Books (eAudio)
Audio books that you listen to on your PC or MP3 player.

Downloadable Videos (eVideo)
Videos that you download and watch on your PC or portable device.

Electronic Books (eBooks)
Digital full-text versions of books that you read on your computer.


Downloadable Audio Books

The eAudio content is offered through NetLibrary/Recorded Books.

To access digital books in the eAudio catalog, you will need:

  • a valid library card from an Allegheny County public library.
  • access to the Internet.
  • free software (Windows Media Player version 9 or higher, which you can download for free here.)

    NetLibrary/Recorded Books: To set up an account and browse the collection of available NetLibrary titles visit http://www.einetwork.net/netlibrary.cfm.  For an introduction to the NetLibrary service check out the  NetLibrary/Recorded Books Downloadable Audio Guide.  For technical assistance withthe NetLibrary service, contact NetLibrary 24-hour technical support at 1-800-848-5800.

Downloadable Video

The eVideo content is offered through the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and OverDrive.  Now you can download digital video to your PC, laptop and compatible portable device (please see OverDrive's Device Resource Center for help with choosing a compatible device.)

To download videos from the eVideo Catalog you will need:

  • a valid library card from an Allegheny County public library
  • high-speed access to the Internet
  • free software (OverDrive Media Console)

Electronic Books

eBooks from NetLibrary

   The eBooks are available online through NetLibrary.  To browse the NetLibrary collection directly visit http://www.einetwork.net/netlibrary.cfm.  You will be prompted for your library card bar code number if you are accessing the site from outside the library.
For Remote Access you must create an account on www.netlibrary.com from within the library.

Book Excerpts from Online Book Clubs

   Each day you will receive a 5-minute portion of a book in your email.  During the week you can read 2-3 chapters and decide if you want to check the book out of the library.  Every Monday we start new books.  Sign-up and start reading.
