Children's Programs

Events and programs are subject to cancellation
one week before the scheduled date if fewer than 10
children enroll. Registration is required for all
programs and events. Please stop by the Children's
Room or call 412-828-9520 x18 to
register.

Summer Reading Program
2008: Catch the Reading Bug @ Your
Library
Guidelines:
- Registration begins
on Saturday, June 7th.
- Registration closes on Saturday,
June 28th. You may register
after June 28th but you will not be guaranteed a
t-shrit.
- The
program concludes on Saturday, July
26th. All book logs must be
checked-in by this time.
- No t-shirts will be given out
before Tuesday, July 1st.
Requirements: There
are three levels of reading groups this
year: Read-To-Me Readers, Beginning Readers
and Independent Readers. Each child will be
given a reading log to keep track of titles
read. Please check in your book lists on an
ongoing basis.
- Read-To-Me Readers (children ages
0-5 and children entering Kindergarten): 20
books must be read or listened to by
each child. Upon completion, a t-shirt
will be given, while supplies last. One
raffle ticket for a grand prize will be given
for each additional 20 books read or read to the
child.
- Beginning Readers (children entering
1st and 2nd grade): 15 books must be
read or listened to by each child. Upon
completion, a t-shirt will be given, while
supplies last. One raffle ticket for a
grand prize will be given for each additional 15
books read or read to the child.
- Independent Readers (children
entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade): 10
books must be read by each child.
Upon completion, a t-shirt will be given, while
supplies last. One raffle ticket will be
given for a grand prize for each additional 10
books read.

Catch the Party Bug
Celebration
Join us for food, fun and entertainment
when we salute our reading stars on Saturday,
August 23rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Raffle
drawings will be announced during the party.
All children & their families who have
completed the required minimum number of books are
invited. More details to
follow... |

Storytimes
For the months of June and
July: For toddlers (24 to 36
months): Mondays at 11:00
am For preschoolers (3 to 5 years
old): Tuesdays at 11:00 am or
Wednesdays at 1:00 pm
There will be
no storytimes the week of June 30th in observance
of the Fourth of July holiday.
Registration is for a month at a time. Call
